Donna C. Andersen, 74, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2017 surrounded by loved ones after a courageous battle with cancer for over three years.
Donna was born November 18, 1942 in Grand Junction Colorado to William and Ethel Cernell. She graduated from South Sevier High School. After graduating, she then moved to Spanish Fork where she started her family and raised her three children.
She married Glade (Andy) Andersen on October 3, 1987. They made their home in Cache Valley.
Donna worked hard her entire life. She worked road construction, Geneva Steel, Mountain Springs, and she retired from ShopKo after 18 years. Donna was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family dinners. She made everyone feel like family when they came into her home. One of her favorite places was working in her yard planting flowers and enjoying the beauty of her and Andy’s hard work.
Donna will forever be missed by her loving and kind hearted husband Andy; her children and their grandchildren: Michael (Heidi) Hansen, Kamie Archinal, Keri (Mike) Mumm, Brad (Tammy) Andersen, Cheri (Paul) Pierson, Tami (Tracy) Smith, and Susan (Scott) Wallentine. Her pride and joy were her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father William Cernell, her mother Ethel Cernell, her step-mother Barbara Nixon, and her two brothers Harold and Bob Cernell.
Donna and her family would like to give a special thanks to Logan Regional Hospital cancer and infusion team, Intermountain Homecare and Hospice, Rocky Mountain Care, and Maple Springs for taking care of her.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to the services on Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery.
