Donna Stoddard

May 10, 1930 — September 4, 2009

WELLSVILLE, UTAH - Donna Mae Cooper Stoddard passed away at her home Sept 4, 2009 at the age of 79. She was born May 10, 1930, in Mt. Sterling to Levi Parker Cooper and Maggie Archibald Cooper. She attended school in Wellsville and South Cache. She met the love of her life, William "Dee"
Riggs Stoddard at a Mutual dance. They were married in
the Logan Temple on August 4, 1947. They recently
celebrated their 62nd Anniversary in Jackson Hole
seeing the Bar J Wranglers.

They were blessed with three children, Douglas Dee Stoddard, Peggy Cooper Stoddard (Field) and Carl Cooper Stoddard. At the time of her death she had six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her son, Douglas Dee
Stoddard, and her brothers, Mark and Alton Cooper, and
her sisters Margaret Bennett, Eva Cristelli, Ruby
Nielsen, Violet Boman and LaRene Peterson.

Donna worked in the Primary under several Bishops, and
later in the Relief Society. One of her favorite things to do was to play card games with Dee, her children, grandchildren and friends. She also loved going to the rodeo. She was a devoted Utah Jazz fan, win or lose. Her favorite player was John Stockton. She also enjoyed her "club" friends for many years.

In her younger years she also loved horseback riding
and bowling.

She loved babies, whether her own children, her
grandchildren, or her great grandchildren. She was
happiest holding them. One of her greatest
disappointments was believing she wouldn't see her
newest great granddaughter, Eva Madison Tyhurst.
Perhaps she can see her now.

Dee and Donna were the reigning Wellsville Sweethearts from the 2008 Labor Day Parade. They are on the beautification committee of Wellsville. They drove the Wellsville City float to all parades for the past four years.
The two were often inseparable. For their service they had a tree named in their honor on the Wellsville City Square.

Donna leaves behind many loved ones who will miss her
very much. These include her husband Dee, daughter
Peggy (Kelly Field), son Carl Stoddard, grandchildren
Danielle (Brady Ward), April Poppleton, Stacy (Josh
Tyhurst), Lacey Gurr, Shaun Stoddard, and Dusty Stoddard.

Step grandchildren Elisa Field, and Aaron Field. Great
grandchildren Austin and Brackin Ward, Hayden Gurr, and
Eva Tyhurst.

Funeral services will be held in the Wellsville 8th

A viewing will be held Tuesday evening, September 8th from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan and Wednesday September 9th from 9:30 to 10:30 am at the Wellsville 8th Ward.
