Donna Ann Townsend Ferguson Timpke, 77 was born January 28, 1946, in Columbus, Ohio to Dorothy Juani ta Coontz and Garnold Robert Townsend. She passed away November 26, 2023, at her home in Logan Utah, following an extended illness.
She graduated from Westerville High School, Westerville, Ohio in 1964, and attended Columbus Business College where she studied business and business law, and later received a Certificate in Family History and Genealogy from BYU. She was also a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary for several years.
Donna worked for the American Motorcycle Association for 15 years as the Event Coordinator managing over 6500 race meets annually. She retired from Hughes Aircraft Company, Electro Optical Division, Finance Department after 15 years where she performed as an instructional designer/trainer and document auditor under the title of Program Analyst.
She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, creating wearable art, music, dancing (even danced on American Band Stand hosted by Dick Clark once), gardening, reading, and was a “Donna of all trades.”
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in various church capacities: Stake Missionary, L.A. Temple Ordinance Worker, Stake Relief Society Secretary, Ward Music Chairman, Ward Relief Society Secretary, Ward Relief Society Teacher (2 wards) and Ward Humanitarian leader.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Michelle Renae Ferguson, as well as seven stepchildren and their descendants. She is also survived by four half-brothers, Terry Shaw (Irma), Larry Shaw, Randall Townsend (Carmen), and Richard Townsend, (Kathy). She was preceded in death by her father Garnold Townsend, her husband, Earl Francis Timpke II, and her mother, Dorothy Townley.
