Hometown: Weston, Idaho
Donna passed away on August 25th, 2011 after battling a long illness, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was welcomed by her loving family: Father, Joseph, mother, Dortha, brothers, Dee, Thayne, and Donald.
Donna and her twin Donald were born September 7, 1933 to Joseph B. and Dortha E. Kofoed Binggeli in Weston, Idaho. In her infancy she weighed 3 LBs and lived in a homemade incubator and was bruised if not carried on a pillow.
She and her sisters did not enjoy cleaning the house as youths. Once they were told to clean the house by their mom before she went to town. They washed the inside of the second story of their home with a hose. When she dated her future husband, plaster fell from the ceiling on his newly cleaned suit. What a first date!!
She graduated from the Salt Lake Business College and later worked in a bank using her newly gained knowledge.
On July 25th, 1952 she was sealed to Gerald Nelson Day for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple. Together they shared 59 years traveling the world. Donna never went anywhere without being dressed to impress. She even climbed the pyramids of Guatemala in her high hills.
Her love for her family was evident to all who spent even a short time with her. She loved to shop, dance, and she enjoyed spending time with family on all holidays, especially birthdays and Christmas. She was known to sing “Happy Birthday to me” all year long.
Donna had a generous nature and loved to meet and befriend new people throughout her life. She especially loved it when they came to her ceramic shop.
She loved gardening and her green thumb showed in the spring with hundreds of beautiful tulips and then later roses.
She will be missed by her posterity which includes her husband, Gerald, her children - daughter, Katrina Nielson (Arthur), sons, Jimmy (Kathleen) and Kevin, 17 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. As well as her brothers, Gaylen, Kerry and sisters Nanette Coburn, Norene Brown, and Jolene Day.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 30th, 2011 at 12.00 noon at the Providence 10th Ward, Chapel, 355 South Canyon Rd, Providence, Utah. Friends may call at the ward on tuesday morning from 10:30am till 11:45am. Interment will be in the family plot in Weston Idaho Cemetery
