Logan, Utah: Donna Harry Winget, 79, passed away peacefully on Wednesday November 5th, 2008 at her home in Logan, Utah.
Donna was born July 30th, 1929 to Albert Isaac and Ruth Harry in Manti, Utah. Donna married R. N. Winget on October 30th, 1950. She met her life-long companion at Winget's Ice Cream. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple and were happily married for 57 years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
R. N. and Donna owned and operated the Beau la Reine Beauty College on South Main in Logan. They enjoyed several successful years at that location then moved the business to 10th North and Main. Donna served several years on the Utah State Board of Cosmetology where she took great pride in teaching young students the arts and crafts of the beauty business. During that time she was also the head instructor at the Beau la Reine Beauty College. Many students appreciated and will remember her passion for the business, her technical expertise, and her desire to please the customer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Newel Winget Sr., Albert Isaac and Ruth Harry, her parents, and her brother Albert (AI) Harry.
She is survived by her daughter Shari W. Alvey (Cless) of Richmond, her son Richard Newel Winget, Jr. (Wendy) of Pennsylvania, her seven grandchildren Nichole Johnson (Cameron), Angie Sorensen (Matt), Jodie Bishop (Scott) all of Smithfield, Brett Alvey (Jenna) of North Carolina, Holly Winget and Laurie Andrus (Jayson) of St. George, and Ashley Winget of Pennsylvania, as well as 10 great-grandchildren, and her sisters Beulah Kilgore of Smithfield and Lois Rowe of Orem.
The family would like to this opportunity to give a heartfelt thanks to Dr. Stephen Salisbury, Alpine Hospice, and the Sunshine Terrace Foundation.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, November 10, 2008 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan. A viewing will be held prior to services from 10:30 to 11:30 AM. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
