Donna Wheeler Poppleton, 85, died Thursday, January 1, 2009.
She was born on July 12, 1923 to William Wheeler and Annie Hansen Wheeler in Lewiston, Utah. She married William Stennett Poppleton on February 28, 1945 in the Logan Temple.
She attended schools in Lewiston and graduated from North Cache High School and LDS Seminary. Throughout her life Mom worked in a variety of different jobs and had a very strong work ethic. She always, no matter what the job, went the extra mile and was an excellent homemaker. She will always be remembered for her delicious Sunday dinners.
An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Mom served in the Primary and Sunday School organizations. She also served as a visiting teacher and sincerely strived to magnify each of her callings. Her testimony of Jesus Christ was exemplified by the loving and caring service she rendered.
She is survived by her children: Gary Stennett Poppleton (Mary) of Logan, UT; Teri Diane Hardwick (Tom) of Ogden, UT; Sidney Wheeler Poppleton (Linda) of Littleton, CO; and Todd Donald Poppleton of Kalispell,MT. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two older sisters and a brother: Lena Poppleton, Winona Cunningham, and Lawrence “Pat” Wheeler (Beth). She is survived by three younger sisters and a brother: Irene Cole, Boise, ID; Gwen Swan, Jerome, ID; Marva Rees (Rulon), Nampa, ID; and Carl Wheeler, Brigham City, UT.
At her request, graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday , January 6th at the Logan City Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at the Allen-Hall Mortuary 34 East Center, Logan prior to the services from 10:00am to 11:30 a.m.
