Dora Belle Stone Ferguson

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend passed away Saturday, Aug. 13, 2005, in Hyrum, Utah, with her loving husband by her side.

Dora Belle Stone Ferguson was born Sept. 23, 1923, in Little Valley, Hunting County, Pennsylvania, where she grew up with five brothers and three sisters. She joined the Navy in 1943, serving in Sandpoint, Washington, repairing aircraft instruments until the end of the war. Dora then met Jack T. Ferguson. After knowing each other six weeks, they were married February 20, 1947, in Los Angeles, California. They lived in several places throughout southern California before settling in Long Beach until 1976 when they retired to Carlsbad, California.

Mom and Dad traveled all over the United States, including Alaska, and throughout Canada and Mexico in their motor home. They visited their children two or three times a year wherever they lived throughout the country.

Dora is survived by Jack, her husband of 58 ½ years; their children, Anita Ferguson, Seattle, Wash., Nancy Ferguson, Tucson, Ariz., Tom Ferguson (Cindy), Hyrum, Utah, Michael Salvati, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, two brothers, her daughter, Cindy, and one grandson.

Graveside services will be on Thursday, August 18, at 10:00 AM at the Hyrum City Cemetery.
