Dora Lottie Mangum Smith

April 26, 1925 — August 5, 2005

Our beloved wife, mother sister and friend passed away on Friday August fifth at the Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah.

Mom was born in Groveland, near Blackfoot Idaho to John Addison Mangum and Lottie Collings. She married R.L. Smith in the Salt Lake City temple on September 7, 1944. Mom graduated with a B.A. from Utah State University in 1975, and is a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers. Dora has always loved music and helped to conduct or accompany musical numbers in church or other settings since she was very young. Mom made many quilts to give as remembrances to her family.

Mom accompanied dad to work and live in Bolivia and Somalia. Together they fulfilled missions in Spain, South Carolina, and Mississippi, where they made many life-long friends.

She is survived by her husband R.L. of River Heights, and her children, Marjie [Todd] McCormick of Columbus, Mo.: Ron [Carolyn] Smith of Henderson, NV.; Steven [Cynthia] of River Heights; Howard [Vonda] of Newton; and Kaye Lucherrini [Steven] of Logan. Mom and Dad have eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 9, at 12:00 noon at the River Heights 4th Ward Chapel, 800 South 600 East, River Heights. Friends may call on Monday evening, August 8, from 6-8 PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St., Logan, and on Tuesday from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to services at the church. Interment will be in the Providence City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family and a video tribute may be viewed at www.allenmortuaries.net .
