LOS ALTOS, CA – Doris Lee Denkler Bankhead 88, died Friday, May 18, 2012 in Los Altos, Cailfornia at her home.
She was born October 31, 1923 in Louisville, KY, the daughter of Louis William Denkler and Jeanette Lay.
Doris was a veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
She was an active member of the Los Altos community where she taught needlepoint to many children and adults through the years. She gave service for over 15 years to the Ronald McDonald House in Palo Alto. She loved to share her talents of needle work, quilts and cooking with others so they could in turn pass it on.
She is preceded in death by her husband Harold Elmer Bankhead; and is survived by her son,
Gary Bankhead, Alamo, California and two brothers Ronald and Neal Denkler, Palm Springs, California.
She has 4 grandsons and 5 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 25, 2012 at the Paradise, Utah Cemetery. Arrangements are by Allen-Hall Mortuary, Logan, Utah.
