Doris Coleman Horlacher
Doris Coleman Horlacher, 85, passed away at about 6:00 A.M. Wednesday July 27, 2011. Born in Rigby, Idaho March 9, 1926, to John Wesley and Olive Price Coleman. She grew up in Montana and Idaho and 2 years in Seattle in 1942 and 1943, back to Rigby for Graduation in 1944, and back to Seattle. In 1947 went to BYU and met William S. Horlacher from Logan and were married September 20, 1948 in the Logan LDS temple. They lived in SLC more than a year, each was called on separate LDS missions, Bill to the Netherlands and Doris to the British mission serving in Ireland. Returning home together spending time visiting and touring Europe, they lived for a year in Logan before going into the meat business in Salt Lake City where they lived for another 19 years. In 1972 they moved to Utah County. In December of 1974 Bill died in an airplane crash. Doris kept busy as a motel owner/operator and in Real Estate Sales, was actively involved in her political party, a
temple worker, a mission to the Arizona, Tempe mission, working at the Election office and in various other clerical positions, and she has worked with the elderly in need of special assistance.
LDS church calling include: secretary and teacher in all the organizations involving the sisters, ward genealogy, Stake Mission, MIA president, primary presidency, Cub Scouts, Stake Primary Scouting Director, Relief Society president, and back to Cub Scouts at age 73.
Doris is survived by four sons William Wesley, Thomas Carl, Andrew Tad, Paul Christian, and many, many, grand and great-grandchildren. She was the last of her siblings.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Saturday July 30, 2011 at the Wellsville 5th & 7th Ward LDS Chapel, 700 South 75 West, Wellsville, Utah. Friends may call at the church on Saturday morning from 10:30am till time of service. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
