Dorothy C. Izatt
Dorothy Cook Izatt passed away peacefully July 3, 2010 in Logan Utah. Dorothy was bor March 28, 1931 in Hyde Park to Golden Cook and Manila Hancey Cook. She attended elementary school in Hyde Park and secondary school in Richmond, Utah.
Dorothy married Don Scott Izatt in Hyde Park, Utah on July 7, 1958. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on August 17, 1999. They lived in North Logan and later settled in Hyde Park, Utah. Scott passed away February 15, 1998.
Dorothy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She greatly enjoyed extraction of genealogy records for the Church. She had strong pride in her community, Cache Valley and it's history were integral in her life. She was charitable and thoughtful toward downtrodden. She was active in the Daughter's of the Revolution.
She was a loving Aunt with great interest in her nieces and nephews. We know she is with her loved ones enjoying a sweet reunion with her husband and best friend Scott, her parents, brother Waldow and her niece, Vickie.
In her younger years, she was an excellent fast softball pitcher for the Hyde Park Women's Team. She enjoyed going to rodeos, horse races and horse shows with Scott. Dorothy loved going for drives with her husband through the countryside, especially the mountains and canyons seeing all the fall colors. Dorothy was an excellent artist and her landscapes were inspiring for all.
She is survived by her brother Rulon. Her sister, Lois Cleaves, sisters-in-law Donna Cook and Gerri Cook and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 11 am on Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the Hyde Park Stake Center, 535 E 200 S. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 pm to 8 pm at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street in Logan and at the Stake Center prior to the service on Thursday from 9:30 am to 10:30 am. She will be laid to rest in the Hyde Park Cemetery.
