In June of 1954 she served in the Great Lakes Mission. In the mission home, she met Elder Norman Lloyd. They were married on November 19, 1958 in the Logan Temple.
Dorthy and Norm spent most of their married life in Young Ward and raised their five children there. Once her children were in school, she returned to work at USU until she retired in 1992.
