Douglas Joseph Jacobsen passed away at his home Tuesday, February 14, 2023 in Washington, UT.
Douglas was born July 16, 1951, in Ogden, UT to Joseph Christian Jacobsen and Thelma Tidwell Jacobsen. He graduated from Logan High School in 1969 and continued his studies at Utah State University.
Doug worked for his for his father where he continued to learn the construction business from both Joe and his mentor Chris Blaser. After many years Doug moved to St. George where he continued to work his trade before going to work for Sletten Construction. He moved from St. George to Tucson, AZ then several years later moving to Las Vegas where he became a Project Manager over seeing the building of several Schools and other large projects. After several years Doug returned back home to Logan, UT where he continued to build and help manage one of his families properties.
Douglas is survived by his wife Teresa Wimsett Jacobsen, daughters Lange Jacobsen Pyper of Salt Lake City, Kristan Jacobsen Ehorn (Joel) of Salt Lake City, sister Susan Jacobsen Etherington (Gary) of Logan, UT, niece Linsey, nephew’s Kurt, Neil and Jack; grandchildren Chase, Kellen, Austin, Thalia, Kailer, Emery and Diem along with 2 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his Aunt Eunice Tidwell Merrill and many cousins and great cousins.
Doug was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Thelma Jacobsen, many Aunts and Uncles and cousins.
Doug loved to live life to the fullest whether skydiving, scuba diving, snow/water skiing, snorkeling, golf. He loved to travel and had a passion for meeting new people whether they were locals or travelers.
Doug often spoke of his growing up and time spent with childhood friends and the many joys and fun they shared.
Memorial services will be at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center, Logan. A private viewing will be held for those who wish between 10 am and 11:45. After the services we will proceed to the Logan City Cemetery for the Dedication of the Grave.
