Edrae Gay Cottrell, known as Gaye Cottrell, age 83, died in the home of her daughter Helen Colburn on January 6, 2022, surrounded by love and caring support.
Gaye obtained her GED in 1970 while working full time and raising children. She went on to obtain her BA Degree from Central Washington University and completed coursework for her master’s degree in psychology. She worked as a counselor at an addiction treatment center in Wenatchee, WA, as a bookkeeper for various companies, as a biller for Swedish Hospital in Seattle, WA and as manager of Cascade Park Condominiums in Renton, WA. She moved to Washington state in 1970 and resided there until 2014 when she returned to her roots. She was born in Utah and she died in Utah.
Gaye was very dedicated to her religion and found much joy in working at the LDS temple. She loved gardening, bowling, movies, playing pool, traveling, good conversation and her family.
Gaye is survived by four of her six children, Rae Lynn Hilliard, Kimberly Clark, Helen Colburn and Gaylene Robinson. She was preceded in death by her two sons Jay Culverwell and Craig Culverwell. She was also preceded in death by her mother Helen Milton, her father Ed Cottrell and three of her siblings, Dixie Seeley, Colleen Johnston and Connie Marsing She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, her sister Katy Witke and her brother Jake Milton.
Graveside services will be held on January 25, 2022 in Washington.
