Edris Allen Mickelsen

Redmond, Utah - Our kind and loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Edris Allen Mickelsen, age 88, died July 17, 2010 at her home in Redmond. She was born August 15, 1921 in Richmond, Utah, a daughter of Grover Elijah and Eliza Anna Stoddard Allen.
She graduated from North Cache High School, Class of 1938 and then attended college for one year in Santa Anna, California. She married Clifford Peter Mickelsen, February 15, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. He died January 3, 1964.
Edris was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as a Teacher in the Relief Society and a Ward Librarian for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and traveling.
She is survived by her four children: Steven A. and Sheryl Mickelsen, Barry C. and Maria Mickelsen, Carol Ann (Dick, deceased) Russell, Manon Mickelsen, all of Redmond; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Joseph Allen of Ogden; Gilbert Allen of Canada; Leora Giles of Provo, Nadean Buttars of Preston, Idaho and Ruth Robertson of Providence.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford; a granddaughter, Becky Russell; a son-in-law, Dick Russell; and three brothers: Harris Allen, Bruce Allen and James Ron Allen.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the Redmond lst LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. or Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 A.M. prior to the services.
Burial will be in the Redmond Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
