Edward Carl Chlarson

January 10, 1956 — January 25, 2009

With great sadness we announce that Edward Carl Chlarson passed away Sunday January 25th, 2009. He was born January 10th, 1956 and is the youngest child of Mildred Nadine Taylor Lundquist and J. Cecil Chlarson. Most of his early childhood was spent in Honeyville , UT. In 5th grade, his family moved to Moses Lake, Washington. His family moved to Cache Valley while he was in High School, and he graduated from Sky View High. He went on to serve an honorable LDS mission in Copenhagen , Denmark .
After his mission he met and married Julie Miller, and they have three wonderful children, but were later divorced. He then married Patricia Sandberg Chlarson in Logan , UT on November 23rd, 1984. They were sealed in the Logan Temple , and they have four more wonderful children.
He was a dedicated member to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved serving anyone and everyone. He loved serving the Lord in many different positions, including being a counselor in several bishoprics, and on the high counsel. But he mostly loved being involved in the Scouting program, were he has served for the last five years as scoutmaster in his ward.
One of his favorite pastimes was music, whether he was playing his guitar, singing in a band, ward choir, or just watching one of his concert DVD’s, he has always surrounded himself with music. As a talented artist he enjoyed doing leather work that was learned while spending many hours at the family ranch when he was young. He spent many years remodeling the homes he has lived in, and became very talented in the craftsmanship.
Another favorite past time was playing golf; he looked forward to every Memorial Day when the whole family would take a trip to the greens. Loving to travel, his family has taken many wonderful family vacations together, which will always be in our memories.
He has been a dedicated employee to Wonder Bread for the last 24 years, and took pride in his work. Being a hard worker, he always stressed the value of hard work to his children. He was always a people person, and thrived upon being around family and friends. And it seemed like he knew everyone, and they knew him.
He was preceded in death by his mother Mildred and a brother-in-law Michael DuBois. He is survived by his father and step-mother, J. Cecil and Lucille Chlarson, his wife Patricia, his siblings Jerilyn Hill (Marlin) of Rexburg, ID, Alan Chlarson (Sandy) of Moses Lake, WA, Linda DuBois (the late Michael DuBois) of Riverton, UT, and his step-sisters Gloria Skancehy and Sheila Thurston, and step-brother Steve and Jenny Wennergren, and his seven children Amy Wood (Mark) of Logan, Kirsten Hunemiller (Chris) of Nampa, ID, Christopher Chlarson (Kelsey) of Hyde Park, Nathan Chlarson (Kellie) of Smithfield, Kamille Chlarson, Kenneth Chlarson (currently serving an LDS mission in Belgium), and Ashley Chlarson. He also has five grandchildren: Anthony, A.J., Ellia, Jaret, and Brietta.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 30, 2009 at noon at the Providence South Stake Center, 360 East 450 North in Millville. A viewing will be held Thursday, January 29 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center in Logan from 6-8 and prior to services on Friday from 10:30 -11:30 at the Stake Center .
