Logan, Utah: Edward Thomas Humphries passed away on March 24, 2007 at the Logan Regional Hospital surrounded by his family, after a battle with cancer.
Ed was born on January 3, 1925 in Irving, New Jersey, the son of Thomas and Mary Barbara Merllaly Humphries.
He attended Utah State University and received a degree in accounting. He enjoyed working with his hands and people more! He worked with June Larsen doing concrete for years. He worked at the Elk’s Lodge in Logan and the USU Physical Plant.
Ed was married to Elaine Wilburn, they were later divorced. He married Dorlene Kaae who preceded him in death in October of 2006.
Ed loved golf, eating out, golf, friends, golf, visits with Herm, golf and the Utah Jazz.
Ed is survived by his children: Dave and Bobbie Spence of Kenai, Alaska, Clarence and Lana Kaae of Nephi, Utah, Jay and Linda Checketts of Logan, Utah, Garry and Vicky Kaae of Logan, Utah, Genevieve and Ricky Loveland of Logan, Utah, Terry and Jan Kaae of Fielding, Utah, Randy Kaae of Richmond, Utah, Ronald and Claire Kaae of Sunset, Utah, and Allen and Sybil Morris of Lewisville, Idaho. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Donna Dorigatti (sister-in-law)of Paris, Idaho, Frank and Cecilia Jones of Brick, New Jersey, George and Barbara Reed of Hamilton, Montana, Jack and Catherine Vansurdam of Wellington, North Carolina, Marie Boutillcir in Morristown, New Jersey, Lamar and Vivian Baker (brother-in-law and sister-in-law) of Nibley, Utah, Rolfe and Mary Humphries of Whiting, New Jersey, William and Helen Humphries of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin, Shelia Vanclief of Melbourne, Florida, and longtime friend Herm Johnson. He is also survived by 46 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Grover and Dr. Ben-Jacob ofr the care and compassion they have shown Ed and his family during his illness and passing. They would also like to thank Father Clarence Sandoval.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, March 30, 2007 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and prior to services on Friday from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Burial will be in the Providence City Cemetery.
