Elaine Adams

d. January 5, 2011

Gladys Elaine Gilley Adams, 75, our precious mother, grandmother, sister, and friend died peacefully with her children by her side on Wednesday, January 5, 2011, after a valiant battle with Leukemia, and is now reunited with her eternal companion.
She was born in Salt Lake City, UT, to Henry LeRoy and Hilda LaRue Gilley.
She grew up in Salt Lake City, graduating from West High School and LDS Business College. She married George Savage Adams in the Salt Lake Temple.
Shortly after their marriage they moved to Hyrum where they raised their 4 children. Laura Schenk (Clair), Kathleen Mattson (Robert), Barbara Boswell (Brent), and Stephen (Amy).
Elaine was an especially devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, never missing any event her husband, children, or grandchildren were involved in. She also was an avid sports fan and could often be heard by her neighbors correcting the refs as she watched the game.
She was very involved in her community, having coached many youth sports teams as well as serving as a county and state 4-H leader.
Elaine was a very active and dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving in every organization. She loved working with the youth and touched many lives.
She is survived by her children, her brother, Leonard Gilley (Betty), 12 grandchildren and was anxiously awaiting the birth of her first great-child due later this year. She is also survived by her two sisters-in law, Margaret Allen, and Betty Adams, along with many nephews and a very special niece, Mary Moreau.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 10,2011 at the Hyrum 10th ward LDS chapel, 125 North 400 West, Hyrum. A viewing will be held on Sunday, January 9,2011, from 6-8 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E Center Street, Logan, and on Monday from 10:30-11 :30, at the church, prior to services.
The family wishes to thank: the staff at Logan Regional Hospital, and especially Dr. Ben-Jacob and his nursing staff for the outstanding commitment and kindness shown to our mother and grandmother.
Because family and sports were so important to our mother and grandmother, in lieu of flowers, please take your family to a game and yell at the refs.
Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
