Elaine Sorenson Brandenburg

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend unexpectedly passed away in Murray, Utah on January 20, 2017, due to complications from pneumonia.
Elaine was born March 17, 1945 to Hazel and Lawrence (Golden) Sorenson. Elaine lived most of her life in Smithfield. She is the third of five children. Her siblings are Doug, Boyd, Ron, and Connie.
After graduating high school, Elaine joined the Navy where she met William E. Brandenburg. They were married in 1964 and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple. To this union were born six children: Jamie Lee (Jeff) Valentine, Constance Elaine (David) Valentine, Erik Eugene (Tricia) Brandenburg, Joshua Bryan Brandenburg (deceased), Jennifer Kay (Don) Gaskill, and Kristy Dawn Blauer. Elaine has 15 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Elaine was an active member of the LDS church. She loved reading, working in her yard, watching game shows, and spending time with her family.
Family and friends may call on Thursday, January 26, 2017, from 10:30 – 11:30 am in the Smithfield 21st ward building at 345 East 300 South. There will be a short service at noon. Interment will be in the Smithfield Cemetery with military honors provided by the Smithfield American Legion.
