Elaine B Leigh Jensen
On July 13, 2012, her 87th birthday, Elaine B Leigh Jensen, 87, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed away in Bountiful, UT due to natural causes incident to age. Born July 13, 1925 in Cedar City, Utah, she was the youngest daughter of Francis Webster and Ada Bryant Leigh and the wife of Lynn Oliver Jensen.
Elaine was a graduate of Cedar City High School and the Branch Agricultural College in Cedar City. Elaine and Lynn were married on March 31, 1947 in the Manti, Utah LDS Temple. Elaine was a gifted and caring wife, mother, homemaker, and friend. Her loves included playing softball and tennis, sewing, quilting, gardening, baseball games, and traveling the country with her husband. Elaine will be remembered by many as a temple worker in the Washington D.C. LDS temple for 15 years. Elaine retired at 83 as an usher, for the Baltimore Orioles, after more than 20 years. She was a devoted Primary teacher for over 50 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Kenneth (Pam) of Richmond, KY; Calvin (Kathy) of Hyde Park, UT; Kathryn Qunin (William) of Gettysburg, PA; Kevin (Linda) of New Market, MD; Carl (Neyith) of Farmington, UT; and Kay C of Sandy, UT; by daughters-in-law Nancy Jensen of Manchester, MD and Patricia Oba of Salt Lake City, UT; by 26 grandchildren, 51 great- grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sisters Amy VanCott, Jean Leigh, Zelma Frandsen, and Irene Herbert, her brother Bryant Leigh, and her daughter-in-law Gloria Jensen.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to gather with the family for the funeral service at 12:00 noon, Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Cedar City Rock Church, 73 East Center Street.
