Elaine Kohler Johnson died peacefully, in her sleep, Friday, June 3, 2011 at Logan Nursing and Rehab in Logan, Utah.
She was born November 1, 1931 to Walter and Jane Cooper Kohler in Providence, Utah. She grew up in Providence and had many happy memories of her childhood there. She attended Providence Elementary and South Cache High School. She enjoyed playing competitive softball as a teenager.
She married Ralph B. Johnson on June 30, 1949 in Logan. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan L.D.S. Temple on June 30, 1950.
Ralph and Elaine lived in California, North Logan, North Salt Lake, and Logan. While Elaine spent most of her life being a great homemaker she discovered that she was an able bookkeeper in 1983 when she and Ralph went to work for the Camelot Mobile Home Park in North Salt Lake. She took great pride in her home and her yard. She loved to crochet, and made many afghans and elaborate crocheted doll dresses. Many people benefitted from her talents.
She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. She served in the Primary, the Sunday School, and the Relief Society.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents and both of her brothers.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph of Logan, her sons Craig (Teresa) Johnson of Logan, Brad (Kris) Johnson of North Logan, Michael (Susan) Johnson of Smithfield, and a daughter, Tammy Johnson of North Salt Lake.
The family would like to express their thanks to the staff at Logan Nursing and Rehab for ten years of tender loving care. Thanks to all of you. You’ve earned your wings on earth.
Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at the Allen-Hall Mortuary at 34 East Center Street in Logan, Utah. Preceding the service, the family will visit with friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Logan Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at
