Elaine Straub

February 7, 1940 — March 3, 2016

Elaine Straub
On March 3, 2016 in the morning hours mom left this earth
peacefully in her sleep. Mom grew up in Logan and Smithfield
and when she met the love of her life, Karl, they were married
and settled in Smithfield. This month will mark their 54th
anniversary. Mom and dad had four kids. From their kids she
has 17 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, with one
more on the way. She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ
of Latter Day Saints.
Throughout her life mom's main goal was her kids and then
her grandkids, she would move mountains for any of us. She is
our biggest advocate and staunchest ally. Nothing in this world
made her happier than to have her family with her. The
grandkids would fight over her lap and the arm of her chair.
Mom is survived by her husband, Karl. Children, Dondi (Alan)
Smith, Cindi (Joel) Lewis, Zane (Jessica) Straub and Cory
Straub. 17 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren with one
more on the way. Brothers and sisters and numerous aunts,
uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents,
two brothers and one sister.
Time will ease the pain of her passing but the hole in our
hearts will never heal.
Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at the Smithfield Cemetery. There will be a viewing on Monday evening from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North.
