Elaine Vanderbeek

December 1, 1924 — December 26, 2014

Heaven received one of earth's finest angels on December 26, 2014, when Elaine Roberts Vanderbeek completed her mortal journey here on earth. Elaine was born on December 1, 1924 to John J and Catherine Roberts in Paradise, Ut.  Her family moved to Logan when she was a child where she resided for the rest of her life.  She was swept off her feet while working at the Tally Ho Cafe by a cowboy named Don W Vanderbeek. They were married on her 19th birthday and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple in 1966. Elaine cared for her own mother for many years and was always caring for and serving others around her. That made it difficult for her to accept care from others when she became in need of help because of her own health challenges. She worked at Utah Mortgage and Loan for 12 years and had many choice friendships with the people she worked with. Her service in the LDS church included many calling in the Stake and Ward Primary and as Ward organist. She blessed so many lives with her talents of music and singing. Elaine loved her family deeply  and was blessed to have two children, Ruth (Dwight) Mickelson and Jim (Sharla) Vanderbeek, nine grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years and her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Many thanks to those at Sunshine Terrace who lovingly took such great care of her for the last nine plus years. She dearly loved all those who came to visit and those who took care of her.
Funeral services will be held on Monday December 29, 2014 at 12:00 Noon in the Allen-Hall Mortuary Chapel, 34 East Center Logan. A viewing will be held prior from 10:30am till time of service.
