LOGAN-- Elaine Holt Call, 79, died peacefully Thursday April30tb, 2009 at the Logan Terrace Grove Assisted Living Center.
Born on May 18, 1929 in Clearfield, Utah to Harold and Irene Holt. She graduated from Davis High School in 1947. She graduated Phi Kappa Phi with a BA in English from Utah State Agricultural College in 1951.
Elaine was a loving wife and mother who dedicated her life to her children. She took a lot of pride in caring for her home and was an excellent cook. She suffered from poor health throughout most of her childhood and adult life. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed serving in her many callings. Married in the Salt Lake Temple on Sept. 2, 1952.
She was an excellent seamstress and was the grand prize winner at the 6tb Annual National Home Sewing Contest. She designed, made and modeled a wool suit, and was offered a modeling contract.
During her life she lived in Fort Collins, CO., Ontario, Canada and Quito, Ecuador. She loved to travel and had the opportunity to travel to Iran, Israel, and various European countries.
The family appreciates all the loving care that was provided to Elaine during the last few years, especially her devoted husband, her son Nathan and daughter-in-law Tammy, her sister, Carolyn and all the wonderful neighbors.
Mom, we can never express our love and gratitude enough for all your love, dedication and service. Your influence will continue on in the lives of your family.
Survived by her loving husband Dr. Jay Wood Call; daughter, Laurel (Brent) Marriott, Layton; sons, Dr. Jeffrey (Robyn) Ogden, Dr. Larry (Paula) Anchorage, Dr. Nathan (Tammy) Logan. Grandchildren; Jason (Haley), Christopher, Rick, Melissa, Cherie (Rob), Lindsay, Kendell, Jordan, Evan, Braden, Dallin, and Brianna. Sister Carolyn (Jerry) Hess. Preceded in death by ,a son, Byron; her parents, Harold and Irene Holt; brother, Richard Holt and sister, Marie Christiansen.
There will be a gathering of friends at the family home, 1686 East 1140 North in Logan on Thursday, May 7th from 6 to 8pm.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Clearfield City Cemetery (1050 South State) for the family on Friday, May 8tb at 2pm. Interment will be at the Clearfield Cemetery. Funeral directors are Allen-Hall Mortuary, Logan. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family online at
