HYDE PARK, Utah - Elaine Ranzenberger Perkes, 75, of Hyde Park, passed away Thursday, July 23,2009 of heart failure.
Elaine was born June 6, 1934 in Providence, Utah. She was the youngest of five beloved daughters born to David Henry and Maud LaFay Walker Ranzenberger in Providence, Utah.
Though Mom's heart failed and ended her mortal life, it never failed her in life. She was an extraordinarily kind and gentle person. She loved her family and friends without condition or expectations.
Elaine attended North Cache High School. She married Richard Perkes on September 18, 1951, in the Logan L.D.S. Temple. She is the mother of four children. Mom was always proud of us and of her 16 grandchildren.
Elaine worked for many years for Mode O'Day and later for La-Z-Boy. She was an excellent seamstress and was skilled in the handwork arts. She taught herself to paint at the age of65. Mom was an active member of the L.D.S. Church and had a strong testimony of prayer.
She is survived by Dick, her husband of 57 years, and by her children Rosie (Kevin) Nyman of Millville, Bonnie (Homer) Mays of Salt Lake, Evan (Gina) Perkes of Evanston, Wyo, and Mark (Linda) Perkes of Millville; 16 grandchildren and 12 great­grand children. She is also survived by her sister, Lola Ashliman, Providence. She was preceeded in death by her parents and 3 sisters, Donna Seamons, Delores Godfrey and Ruth Ormond.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, July 28 at the Hyde Park 5th Ward Chapel, 65 East Center in Hyde Park. A viewing will be held from 6-8 PM on Monday evening, July 27 at Allen Mortuary of North Logan, 420 East 1800 North in North Logan and from 10:30-11:30 AM prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
