Elizabeth Bernice Thompson Goodey, 89 died Saturday May 8, 2010 in North Logan Utah.
She was born March 1, 1921, in Clarkston, Cache County, Utah. She was the daughter of Samuel Loosle Thompson and Etta Lucetta Godfrey Thompson.
She received her education in the Clarkston Elementary School and North Cache High School.
She married Alma LeRoy Goodey Sept. 5, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS temple.
She was a loving and devoted mother who enjoyed cooking, raising flowers and reading.
Bernice has been a devoted member of her church serving many years in the Primary, as a visiting teacher and as a member of the ward choir. She was a member of the Clarkston Riding Club for many years.
In 1980, Alma and Bernice accepted a call to serve in the Kentucky Louisville LDS mission. Upon their return they were called as officiators in the Logan Temple, where they served for 8 years.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter and spouses, LeRoy R. and Karen Goodey, Clarkston, Utah;
Vern R. and Janet Goodey, Roy, Utah and Kayleen and David B. Shaw, Idaho Falls, Idaho. They also helped raise a niece, Vickie Griffiths and a nephew, Kelly Thompson.
She has 14 grandchildren and 31great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Alma LeRoy Goodey, infant son and granddaughter Jena Shaw and three brothers, Dean Samuel Thompson, Eldon Thompson and Lloyd Ross Thompson.
Funeral services will be noon Friday, May 14, in the Clarkston LDS Ward Chapel with Bishop Edwin Summers conducting. Friends may call at the ward Chapel from 9 to 11 :30a.m.
Burial will be in the Clarkston City Cemetery.
