North Logan, Utah: Elizabeth Carole Hayes, 72, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at her home in North Logan.
Carole was born in Santa Maria, Santa Barbara County, CA on May 1,1939 to Emanuel Elmer Amyx and Dorothy Kathryn Taylor. She grew up mainly in Duncan, Oklahoma.
Carole met and married Alton Odis Hayes on April 29, 1961 in Lawton, Oklahoma. Carole & Alton spent most of their married life in Slidell, LA before moving to North Logan, UT in May 1997. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Carole is survived by her husband of 50 years, Alton Odis Hayes, and children: Mary Katharine Cherry; Russell Alton (Sharon) Hayes; and Jana Christine Merkley; three grand-daughters (Rachel Renee Slone, Tiffany Ashley (Jared) Stradley, Christine Ann Hayes); two grand-sons (Michael Chase Merkley and Chad Alton Merkley); 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in her death by her parents and her brothers, Ralph Allen Amyx, Joseph Emanuel Amyx, and her sisters, Dorothy Kay Amyx, Linda Joyce Amyx, and Marilyn Sue Stuart.
It was Carole's desire to be cremated. There will be no funeral services held. Interment will occur later in the North Logan Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
