Beloved father, grandfather and great grandfather, Ellis Schow Hansen, passed away December 5, 2007 in Brigham City, UT, at 95 years of age.
Ellis was born June 2, 1912 to Peter O and Minnie Schow Hansen in Paradise Utah. He married Marva Lawisch Hickman on October 27, 1933 in Rockport, UT, their marriage was solemnized September 18, 1934 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with six children, Spencer Ellis deceased, Gordon deceased, Blaine deceased, Clark, Patricia and Steven. Marva passed away at their home March 19, 1980. Ellis married Margaret J Christoffersen February 20, 1981 in the Logan LDS Temple, enjoying 25 years together, Margaret passed away February 20, 2006.
Born and raised in Paradise, UT, Ellis bought his father's farm developing it into a successful dairy farm. At retirement he sold the farm to the LDS Church and built a dream home for he and Marva across the highway, staying close to the farm and community they loved. He continued living in Paradise until October 1988 when he and Margaret moved to Logan, moving again to Brigham City after Margaret's passing in 2006. Ellis graduated from South Cache High School and Seminary, attended USAC in Logan for 2 years, enjoying his affiliation in the Alpha Delta Epsilom Fraternity.
Active in the LDS Church, he served in many capacities including 24 years as an officiator in the Logan LDS Temple, which he loved dearly. He served on the War Finance Committee of the State of Utah, State Soil Conservation Committee, Member of Cache Valley Dairy Committee, Boy Scouts of America Committeeman, Paradise Improvement Committee and Paradise Cemetery Maintenance District.
Survivors are: Clark (Gayle) Hansen, Lake Elsinore CA; Patricia (Glendon) Hendricks, Brigham City UT; Steven Hansen, Phoenix AZ; Jenell Geddes Hansen, Idaho Falls, ID; Joan Wright Hansen, North Ogden, UT, 15 grandchildren and 39 great grandchildren. Step Children: William E (Elaine) Christoffersen, SLC, UT; John E (Connie) Murphy, Hooper, UT; Barbara (Jay) Cheney, Pleasant View, UT; Linda Hodges, Logan UT; Jeanine (Sparky) Gierke, Windemere FL.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 11, 2007 in the Paradise Ward Chapel, 9060 South 200 West in Paradise. A viewing will be held on Monday evening from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Logan, Utah, and prior to services on Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at the church.
