Emma Mcneil Reeder Sorensen

Emma McNeil Reeder Sorensen passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2008 in Logan, Utah. She was born in Logan, Utah, May 11, 1914 to Richard and Naomi Standley McNeil. She grew up in Logan and Franklin, Idaho. She graduated from Franklin High School and Salt Lake Acuman Business College.

Emma married Frank Hyde Reeder April 6, 1934, in the Logan LDS Temple. Frank passed away in January of 1969. She Married Melvin Sorensen Feb. 18, 1983. Melvin passed away in June 1988.

Emma has been active in the LDS Church all her life. She has served in all the auxillary organizations.

Emma worked as secretary and bookkeeper for Farmers Insurance, Lynn's TV, Brown Monument and Desert Industries. She has been active in the DUP and has crocheted many beautiful afghans, and baby blessing dresses. She had a talent of making everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Her cute sense of humor always put people right at ease.

Emma is survived by three sons: Richard(Helen), Ronald(Shirley), and Douglas(Laura). She has 19 grandchildren 37 great-grand children and one great-great grand child. She has four step children: Clyde(Marilyn) Sorensen, Clara(Claude)Parkinson, Dennis(Leona)Sorensen, and Jeri(Allen) Boehme. She had a great love for all her families.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary. A viewing will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the mortuary and prior to services on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net

The family would especially like to thank Hospice of Utah and a special appreciation for Carrie Edwards for all the nights she stayed with Emma.
