Eric James Gonter passed away on May 15, 2012 in Hyrum, Utah. Eric was born December 4, 1969, to Harvey Clyde (Jim) and Darthel (Dee) (Wilkinson) Gonter. He was born in Frankfurt, Germany.
As he has returned to his Heavenly Father, he leaves the love of his life, Jessica Ryan Gonter and her two daughters Megan and Lexi Cottle of Hyrum, UT. His daughters Ashley Gonter and Alyssa Jamie Floreani of St. George, UT, brought much happiness to his world and he enjoyed spending as much time with them as possible. He was a kid at heart so it made growing up very exciting and adventurous. He was a great dad who will be missed dearly by his daughters and they look forward to the day that they can all be together again. He brought them much joy and taught them a lot of valuable life lessons which are helping to give them the strength they have today. Words can hardly express the love between a father and his daughters.
Also, he is survived by his mother Dee Gonter, siblings- Catherine Lamb (Trent), Cynthia VanNoy, M. Shawn Gonter (Alicia), Shanna D. Lunceford, and Amy C. Gonter.
Eric left behind several nieces and nephews, who loved him very much.
Eric was an avid outdoors man. He loved fishing, hunting, boating, camping, skiing, paintballing, motorcycling, and he loved sports. He loved horses, family outings, and was oft times the entertainment of the get together. He was a handy man and could fix and repair many things. He had a very gracious heart and helped anyone in need. He was an excellent cook and the family looked forward to his dutch oven cooking.
Eric was preceded in death by his father and brother Douglas C. Gonter.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in the West Warren LDS Chapel, 856 North 5900 West, West Warren with Bishop Wayne Jorgenson conducting. A viewing will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM prior to the services at the church. Internment will be at approximately 2:30 PM at Lindquist Washington Heights Memorial, 4500 Washington Blvd. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan.
