Ervin Godfrey Olsen returned home to the arms of our loving Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Erv was born on December 4, 1930, in Young Ward to Bert and Dora Olsen.
Erv was the 4th of nine children and fiercely loved his siblings. Erv proudly served in the Korean Conflict. Erv married the love of his life, Donna Kaye Peterson, on November 28, 1961. Donna & Erv bought his family home in Young Ward and raised their family there. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Logan Temple. Erv drove long haul for E.A. Miller for many years and later on in his career, he worked, in the evenings, as maintenance assistance to complete 43 years of service. Dad had a love of the Savior, was humble, charitable and truly cared for others.
Erv is survived by his son, Darren (Diane) Olsen; daughters DeeAnn (John) Stock; Laura (Gordon) Hubbell; Dawneen Olsen; a sister Linda Montano; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; Bosco Dog and Debbie Treasure, the Neighbor. He is also survived by many adoring nieces, nephews and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to donate to your ward missionary fund in Erv’s name.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 9th at 11:00 a.m. at the Hollyhock Ward Chapel, 344 W. 700 S. in Logan.
