Esther Swenson

November 4, 1923 — August 13, 2012

LOGAN, UTAH: Esther Scott Swenson, 88, passed away peacefully, prepared to return to the presence of her Father in Heaven, on August 13, 2012. She was born November 4, 1923, to Daniel and Emma Scott in Logan, Utah. Being the youngest of five children and the last to leave home - she had special one on one time with her parents and became very close to them. Especially her mother - spending many happy hours working together.

She helped her mom bottle around 1000 quarts of fruits and vegetables each summer. That is where she learned her love for canning and carried on the tradition all throughout her life. She married Melvin Standley Swenson on March 24, 1945 - her husband for 64 years -- what a wonderful reunion - bet there is some happy dancing going on in heaven. They have seven children - Toni (Guy) Withers of West Jordan, Utah; Pamela (Bill) Reeder of Cardston, Alberta, Canada; Suzette (John) Goldspink of Houston, Texas; Annette Nelson of West Haven, Utah; Janice Johnson of Logan, Utah; Scott (Debi) Swenson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Kim (Shon) Kresie of Providence, Utah. They have 63 grandchildren, 53 great grandchildren and

9 great, great grandchildren. Esther was recognized by the women in her LDS Church for her service. She was known and appreciated for her kindness and service by her neighbors and family. She was the happiest when she was with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed family vacations, many hours on the boat with family at Hyrum Dam and her and dad's camp/fishing trips in their trailer. She loved working at USU Ticket Office for more than 18 years. Esther is preceded in death by her loving husband Melvin, her parents, her siblings, two grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.

Esther's family would like to express their profound appreciation to the staff of the Logan Nursing & Rehabilitation for their kind, attentive, sincere and tender care of Esther and their respect and consideration for all the family and friends as they visited her. We are so grateful for the loving care from Access - especially her hospice nurse, Diane Crockett.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 am in the Logan 10th-29th Ward Chapel, 500 East 800 North. There will be a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary and at the church on Saturday one hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Millville Cemetery.
