Eunice Murray Douglas
1912 - 2010

LOGAN, UTAH: Eunice M. Douglas, passed peacefully in her sleep at age 97 on Monday, January 25, 2010. She was born in Wellsville, Utah on September 11, 1912 to Parley and Ida Murray. Eunice was the oldest of four children and grew up living and working on the family dairy farm. The dairy farm is still in operation and is owned by her nephew.
In 1933, Eunice married Daniel Walters Douglas. They lived in Howell, Utah working the Douglas family farm. That farm is also still in operation and is owned by extended Douglas family. Daughters, Martha and Linda were born during their time in Howell.
In 1947, the family moved to Logan and daughters Dorothy and Susan were born. Eunice lived at the family home until she became a resident of Terrace Grove Assisted Living Home nine years ago.
At the age of 5, Eunice completed her first quilt. She continued to hand stitch beautiful quilts all her life, winning awards at county and state fairs. She was still winning ribbons for her “hand work” in 2009.
Eunice was preceded in death by her husband Dan in 1969; her brother, Parley; son-in-law, Clair and a grandson, Chet. She is survived by her brother, Clair Murray and sister, Ida McBride Hill; daughters, Martha Mauchley, Linda (Bob) White, Dorothy Douglas (Jim Ayers), Susan (Mark) Silver; grandchildren, Jill White, Joseph Ayers, Sam and Liam Silver; great-grandchildren, Kellee and Paige Harwood.
Her family was blessed to have had her love and guidance for so many years. We believe she was the best mom and grandma in the world.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Terrace Grove for their care and kindness of mom.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 30, 2010 in the Logan First Ward Chapel, 89 South 200 West in Logan. A viewing will be held Friday evening from 6-8 pm at the Allen-Hall Mortuary in Logan. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Sunshine Terrace Foundation, 225 North 200 West, Logan, Utah 84321. Condolences and memories may be sent to the family at www.allenmortuaries.net
