Evelyn Josephine (Williamson) Zabriskie-Howard
Evelyn was born March 13, 1932 to Alexander and Nina Margaret Williamson in Hooker, Oklahoma. She married Douglas Lynn Zabriskie August 26, 1951 in Baker, Oregon, and they were sealed September 21, 1960 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were the parents of six children Linda Gail (deceased), Bruce Douglas (deceased), Sheryl Ann (Collin) Barfus, Jeffery Lynn (Cindy), Becky Jean (Randy) Stewart-Bastian, and Kenneth James (Jennifer). Mom had one loving sister, Patricia Mae who preceded her in death. Dad passed away in 1983, and Mom later married Allen Howard, a long time friend from Idaho Falls. Mom was a good homemaker, wife, mother, and always provided warm meals and a good home. She later went to work at the USU Merrill Library in the acquisitions department. After retiring from USU, mom owned and operated a ceramic shop in Logan. She was a friend to many, and could talk to anyone. Mom served in several callings in the LDS church and had a strong testimony of Joseph Smith Jr, and of the Savior, Jesus Christ and His gospel. Mom was loved by her six children, husband, Allen Howard, and by Allen’s children Kathryn (Terrill) Christensen, Michael (Linda) Howard, Vaughn Howard (deceased), Terry (Colleen, deceased) Howard, Machel (Dale, deceased) Richards, Kent (Kristi) Howard, and Brent (Carolyn) Howard, as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren from both families. A viewing service will take place Thursday evening from 6-8PM at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center St. A viewing will also be held Friday morning from 9:30-10:30 AM at Allen-Hall Mortuary with funeral services beginning at 11:00AM. Interment will take place in Logan City Cemetery.
