NORTH LOGAN - Farrell Nielsen Anderson, 80, passed away Sunday, August 3, 2008, at his home in North Logan, Utah. He was born September 24,1927, in Logan, Utah, to Cyrus and Violet Nielsen Anderson. His mom died when he was a young boy. His father later married Hazel Nye. He grew up in College Ward. Farrell married Pauline J. Anderson on June 10, 1948 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They celebrated their 60 year anniversary this year. He lived in Providence, UT for 45 years.
Farrell had a special love for all cars. This love was shared with his sons and grandsons. He owned various antique cars over the years, all of which he took great pride in. He showed them in lots of auto shows and took home many trophies. He was a member of the national and Cache Valley chapter of the Veteran Motor Car Club of America. He worked at Wilson Motor for 35 years, where he was Parts Manager and Service Manager. He was known for his knowledge of cars and received numerous awards and honors from Ford Motor Company.
He was also a member of the Logan Police Reserve where he served as President, a member of the Utah Peace Officers Association, and a member of the Providence Lions Club where he served as President. He was a member of The LDS Church where he served as President of the Mutual and a Home Teacher.
He is survived by his wife, 2 children: Rickey Farrell (Paula), of Wellsville and Jon Paul (Jolynn) of Providence; 8 grandchildren: Kami, Janalee, Jami (Josh) Carley, Tyler, Jeri (Wangsarr) Vann, Jaron, Marlee and Marijka; 2 great-grandchildren:
Jaden and Jaxton Carley; and a brother, Arlyn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother Hazel, brother Russell, and sisters Alice and Ivaloo.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5,2008 at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St. in Logan. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, August 6 at 1 pm at the Paradise City Cemetery. Condolences and thoughts may be extended to the family online at
