Faye Snowball Allen

October 2, 1930 — May 11, 2013

Laveda Faye Snowball Allen returned home to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on May 11, 2013. Faye was born October 2, 1930 to Lillian Margaretta Bullock and Ray (Ralph) James Snowball in Smithfield, Utah. She lived in Smithfield until 1934 then moved with her family to Lake City, Utah where she lived until she was 16 years old. Her family then moved to Providence, Utah. Her education included Ensign, Sumner, Liberty and McKinley elementary schools, Lincoln Jr. High and South High school in Salt Lake City and South Cache High School in Cache Valley. She graduated from South Cache High school and LDS Seminary in 1948.
After the death of her father in 1950, Faye worked many jobs through the years to help support her family including The Herald Journal, the Cradle Shop, Modern Drug Store, Hobson Photography, and First Security Bank. Later after her marriage, she was employed at Brown Equipment Co. and PC Designs. Faye was a talented seamstress and took on many sewing and quilting jobs for various people.
On June 16, 1954 Faye married the love of her life, Warren Madsen Allen, son of Thomas Smith and Inez Madsen Allen from Preston Idaho. Faye and Warren were married in the Providence First LDS Ward by Bishop Jack C. Thompson. They were later sealed for time and eternity in the Logan LDS Temple on October 12, 2013. They lived in Salt Lake City and Preston then settled in Logan, Utah. Faye was a lifetime active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She held secretarial, teaching and leadership positions and was a visiting teacher in Providence 1st, Logan 2nd, and Logan 4th wards. She was a member of the Thomas X. Smith Daughters of Utah Pioneer Camp. Faye was talented in many areas. She loved to sing, sew, garden, write, sketch and oil paint. She also enjoyed doing genealogy and Temple work.
Faye was blessed with 4 wonderful children; Gregory Warren (Peggy Seamons) Allen of Preston, Kristie Faye (Carl) Fritch of Provo, Thomas Courtney (Paula Eddy) Allen of Logan and Melanie Kaye (Randy) Williams of North Salt Lake. Faye was a wonderful homemaker and devoted mother, teaching her children the gospel of Jesus Christ. She was also blessed with 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a sweet, patient attentive grandmother and loved by them all.
Faye was welcomed home by many friends and family members that preceded her in death including her parents, brother, and sister-in-law, Ralph James (Lola Mae) Snowball, sister, LaRae S Davis, baby brother Snowball, Step-father, LeRoy Nelson, step-brother, Paul Nelson, step-sister June Jessop, brother-in-law, Winston Allen, and great grandson, Weston Lee Campbell. She is survived by her husband , children and family including brother-in-law, Donald (Ann) Davis of Pleasant View, brother-in-law, Gary (Reta) Allen of McCall, sister in law, Renee Allen of Preston, , step-sisters, Phyllis Allsop of Smithfield, Dorothy Burrows of Ogden and Janice Hanson of Providence.
A viewing will be held Friday May 17 from 6-8 pm at Allen Hall Mortuary 34 East Center Street in Logan. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 18 at 10:00 am at the Logan 4th ward chapel 294 North 100 East. Friends and relatives may also meet for a viewing Saturday May 18 from 9-10 am at the chapel preceding the Funeral. Burial will take place in the Smithfield Cemetery.
Faye’s family wishes to give a special thanks to the staffs at Logan Regional Hospital and Logan Nursing and Rehab, Allen Hall Mortuary, Bishop Kaylon Anderson and the members of the Logan 4th Ward.
