LOGAN, UTAH: Fern Jessop Scott, 91, of Logan, died Friday, January 15, 2010 in Logan. She was born July 11, 1918 at home in Millville. She was the fourth of 13 children.
Fern met Therwin Scott of Millville when they were children. They became sweethearts, and were married on May 25, 1938 in the Logan Temple.
Therwin and Fern had one child, Karen, who is deceased.
Fern raised Karen while Therwin was serving honorably in the U.S. Army in 1945 and 1946 in Korea.
After Therwin’s return from military service, Fern supported him throughout his career as a mechanic. In 1965 she helped him open Scott’s Automotive.
One of Fern’s favorite pastimes was to go on rides with Therwin through rural Cache Valley in their big red Buick. They were widely known in the county and their car was recognized by many.
Fern was a member of the LDS church and served in various callings throughout the years.
Fern passed away peacefully on January 15, 2010. She is survived by grandsons Scott, Michael, and Brent Raymond; sisters Virginia Jenson and Dixie Olsen; and many great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 12:00 pm in the Hillcrest 2nd Ward. There will be a viewing on Thursday from 10:30 - 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Millville City Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared with the family at
