Tutie was born the middle child of 13 children to Joseph and Julia Warr Walther on a ranch just outside of Elko, Nevada. They never had much growing up, but they had all they ever wanted. From helping and watching the weary stagecoach drivers, to becoming the oldest living person in Lewiston, Utah, “She’s seen alot”!
She married the love of her life Richard G. Meier in 1935 and made their home later in Lewiston where they had a large game bird farm in addition to a large garden and raising three children.
She will be truly missed by her children; Julia (Merl) Manteufel, Lewiston; Colleen Armstrong, Idaho Falls, ID; Jerry and (Jan) Meier, Smithfield, eight grandchildren, many great and great-great grandchildren., a foster daughter, Kathy O’Brian, two sisters, Beulah Dalley, Idaho Falls, ID; June Reilly, Oxnard, CA; a brother, Jack and Irene Walther, Lamoille, NV.
Her suggestion for living to be 103 is have a wonderful balance, between responsibility and fun, eat your fruits and vegetables.... but have all the Dove dark chocolate you want.
She was able to live at home on her own until this last June when she fell. The family would like to thank the loving staff at Rocky Mountain Care Center for all the care they gave to mom these past six months.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday at 12:00 pm in the Brigham City Cemetery. There will be a viewing from 10:00 - 11:30 am. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center.
As her great granddaughter Jessie said “She is planting God’s garden today”
