Floyd William Krebs
NORTH LOGAN, Utah - Floyd William Krebs, our beloved father, grandfather, and great-
grandfather passed away peacefully, Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in Logan, Utah.
Floyd was born February 25, 1924 in North Logan, Utah. He was the sixth child, of eight
children, born to John and Martha Berger Krebs.
After returning from his mission to the Northwest States in 1950, he married Rita Bickmore
Swenson on June 19, 1951 in the Logan LDS Temple. He graduated with a master's degree in
Education from Utah State University in 1975 and taught seminary and institute in Garland,
UT, Logan, UT and Laie, HI. Together Floyd and Rita served five additional missions in Hawaii,
Pennsylvania and here at home. Floyd served as a High Councilman, Bishop, and temple
worker. He loved and memorized many scriptures, poems and jokes; which he shared with
everyone he met.
Floyd and Rita were fortunate to travel to many states and countries, making wonderful friends
along the way. His great examples of love, generosity, sense of humor, and testimony have
touched his family and others who knew him. In addition to his teaching, Floyd enjoyed
farming and working the land, as well as raising horses and cattle.
Floyd was preceded in death by his wife Rita on, May 24, 2009 and is survived by their five
children: Susan (Gordon) Foreman, Cuenca, Ecquador; Starla (Vincent) Jones, Findlay, Ohio;
Kim (June Morrill) Krebs, Hyde Park, UT; Conley (Diana Prisbrey) Krebs, North Logan, UT;
and Janis (Glen) Dautrick, Providence, UT. They were also blessed with 20 grandchildren and
17 great grandchildren, with one more great-granddaughter expected in March.
Floyd is survived by one brother, Leo Krebs, North Logan, UT; and three sisters, Ruth Robinson
and Irene Murray, North Logan, UT; and Marie (David) Patterson, Salt Lake City, UT. His
parents, two brothers, one sister and in-laws - Phillip (Clara Nielsen) Krebs, Vern (Marie
Walker) Krebs, Emma (Earl) Anderson, Irma Benson Krebs, Loy Robinson, and Clair Murray,
preceded him in death.
We would like to give our heart-felt thanks to Community Nursing Services, Hospice, and Logan
Rehabilitation and Nursing for the exceptional services, they provided to Floyd over the last
eighteen months. He genuinely loved and appreciated each and every nurse, aid, therapist and
caregiver that enhanced his well-being. Each one became a part of his life.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 12:00 Noon at the North Logan 15th Ward Chapel, 1650
East 2600 North, North Logan, UT. There will be a viewing Sunday evening from 6:00 - 8:00
p.m. at the Allen-Hall Mortuary - 34 East Center, Logan UT and at the church on Monday from
10:00 -11 :30 a.m. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at
