FRANCES G. HARRIS, 88 of Westdale, New York died at Sunshine Terrace in Logan, Utah on Thursday, May 29, 2008.
Born November 12, 1919 in East Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lillian and Allison Perkins Howard. She married Robert Laing Harris on July 12, 1942 in Warners, New York, and was widowed on July 9, 1984. Her husband, Richard Foley, Westdale, NY, whom she married February 9, 1991, survives her.
She is survived by her two children: David Laing (Joyce) Harris, Oconomowoc, WI and Janet (Donald) Fiesinger, Logan, UT; her five grandchildren: Kenneth Laing (Dawn) Harris, John Laing (Natalie) Harris, Christy (Kyle) Shoemaker, Linda (Christopher) Matto and Amanda (fiancé David Louie) Fiesinger; her eight great grandchildren: Calvin Laing Harris, Madeline Jace Harris, Noah Laing Harris, Asher Laing Harris, Ethan Laing Harris, Erlend Laing Harris, Andrew Philip Matto and Connor Francis Matto; and her four step children: Thomas (Sharon) Foley, Mary (Robert) Vatilla, Ellen (Randy) Webster and Patrick (Lois) Foley.
She is also survived by her siblings Charles Howard, Phoenix, NY; Doris Sirois, Atco, NJ; Leoti Gainer, Moreno Valley, CA; Inez (Richard) McDermott, Mexico NY; Lillian (Robert) Gunnar, Chicago, IL; sisters-in law Beth (Allison H) Howard, Baldwinsville, NY; Norma (Roy) Howard, Salisbury, NC; Margaret (Myron) Howard, Baldwinsville, NY; Julia (Julius) Balintfy, Lakeland, FL and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Frances graduated from Warners High School, Syracuse Normal School and SUNY Oswego. Her teaching career began in 1940 in a one-room school in Amboy, NY and included teaching at East Hill Elementary School, Camillus, NY and other school districts. Her most recent residences were Westdale, NY and Zephyrhills, FL before moving to Logan, UT in April 2008.
