Frank Bradshaw Leishman

November 29, 1908 — December 13, 2008

WELLSVILLE, UTAH - Our loving father, Frank Bradshaw Leishman, age 100, left this world to be reunited with his eternal companion, Nellie DeRyke on Saturday, 13 December at his home in Wellsville. He was born 29 November 1908 in Wellsville, Utah to Robert A. Leishman and Elizabeth Bradshaw Leishman, the sixth of 9 children. His mother Elizabeth died when Frank was 9. His father later married Annie Wyatt Gunnell. There were 6 children added to the Leishman clan and they all bonded into one family.
Frank died two weeks after celebrating his 100th birthday where he had over 300 family and friends celebrating with him. He married Nellie, the love of his life, in the Logan L.D.S. temple after having met her during the time they were both on missions to the Eastern States. She preceded him in death one year, 11 months and 7 days. They made their home in Wellsville where he farmed and raised dairy cattle. Their home was blessed with 7 children: six girls and one boy. He often commented that having girl children and bull calves was not the best program for a dairy farmer, but then would say he was successful because they all worked along side him on the farm. They are:
Dorretta Probasco, Donnetta (Keith) Stuart (twins), McKay, (Sharon) Leishman Geneil (Don) Smart, Sanda Lee (Terry) Jorgensen, Francine (Robert) Davis and Twila (Dee) Wood. He has 31 grandchildren, 77 great grandchildren, and 13 great, great grandchildren. Daddy loved visiting with his family and friends. He has left a great legacy of honesty, good work ethic, love of the land, love of family, love of the Gospel, love of life and love of others. This can be expressed in one word "Love". He lived the way he loved ... with all his heart and soul.
Dad was blessed with the ability to remember people, who they married, their children and where they moved to. He has helped many in learning more about their family genealogy. He was sharp of mind to the end and it is often said that when a man dies it's like burning a library. In his case this is surely true. He is preceded in death by his wife, two sons-in-Iaws; Doug Olsen (Donnetta), and Johnnie Probasco (Dorretta), and one great grandson. He is survived by two sisters; Jean Jensen and Colleen Gubler, and a brother Norman. He was close to all his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Thursday, December 18 at 12:00 noon in the Wellsville 7th Ward; corner of 7th South and 1st West. There will be a viewing at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center, Logan, Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, and again from 10:30 to 11 :30 AM at the church prior to the funeral. Interment will be in the Wellsville City Cemetery.
