Gary B. Leishman, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on July 18, 2013.
Gary was born June 7, 1933 in Wellsville, Utah to Allan Bradshaw Leishman & Idonna Balls Leishman. Gary attended South Cache High School in Hyrum, Utah. He married Geraldine Nielsen on July 19, 1952. Together they had five children, Bruce (Carolyn) Leishman, Lesa (Dan) Price, Kelly (Cindy) Leishman, Jeff (Julie) Leishman, & Dana (Ann) Leishman.
Gary graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree.
He was employed as a teacher in Cache County School District for many years, on the Utah State Board of Education, Director of the Community Action Program, Personnel Director with Hesston Corporation, and as a Real Estate agent and building contractor.
He loved peaceful times spent in the outdoors hunting, camping, fishing, and horseback riding with friends and family. He loved owning and raising colts and horses, and especially saddling his favorite horse, Duke, for a ride in the mountains. He enjoyed guns and time spent target shooting with his children and grandchildren. Fall was his favorite time of year, as he prepared for and looked forward to hunting trips, including cooking delicious meals for all.
Gary was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings during his lifetime, but enjoyed teaching the gospel the very most. Dad had a deep and abiding love for our Savior, Jesus Christ, and had a strong testimony of the great plan of salvation.
Gary has19 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren that he loved dearly. He has one sister, Sharen (Ken) Munk, and Brothers Nolan (LeAnn) Leishman, Dennis (Janice) Leishman, and Kim (Margene) Leishman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allan and Idonna Leishman, and a great grandson, Traven Leishman.
