LOGAN, UTAH : George John Duce, 65, passed away
unexpectedly of a stroke Friday, July 1, 2005 in Salt
Lake City, Utah. He was born May 19, 1940 in
Richmond, Utah to Delbert and Mary Larson Duce. He
married Mary Louise McInelly on September 3, 1965 and
later sealed with their three older children in the
Logan LDS Temple on October 3, 1975.
As a youth he enjoyed working with his father raising
30,000 chickens for Swift. He graduated from North
Cache High School. Her served in the United States
Navy from 1960 - 1962 and was released with an
honorable discharge. He worked construction and loved
to help friends and family work around the house with
their own remodeling projects. He was a craftsman in
all trades. He enjoyed working in the scouting
program with his sons and grandsons. He worked at the
Intermountain Indian School in Brigham City for 16
years then later he was transferred to the Defense
Depot in Ogden where he retired in 1995. Later he
went back to work part-time at Anderson Lumber and
then at Lowes just for fun. Since he retired from
Lowes he enjoyed spending time with his wife, children
and grandchildren. He enjoyed traveling both long and
short excursions with his wife. You will be missed
more that you will ever know by your family and
friends.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Duce, Logan; 4
children, Michael and Lisa Duce, Tremonton; Lisa and
Travis Thompson, Logan; Vicki and Blaine Bagley, North
Salt Lake; “J.D.” Jon David and Stefanie Duce, Logan.
9 grandchildren , a sister, Velda Mae Egan and Robert
Thornley, North Logan. He was preceded in death by
his parents, a sister, Mary Lou Egbert and a brother
Dell Ray Duce.
Graveside services for family and loved ones will be
held Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Richmond Cemetery.
