Logan, Utah: George Richard Jessop, 75, passed away at his home on July 11, 2006. He was born October 25, 1930 in Millville, Utah to George Thomas and Marion Hincks Jessop. He was a life long resident of Cache Valley. He attended school in Millville.
Richard married the love of his life, Maurine Bostock on March 18, 1953 in Ogden, Utah spending 53 years together.
He was a very hard worker and began working at a very young age on the family dry farm in Pocatello Valley. He worked the farm with his brother Robert for many years. During the years of working the dry farm he also worked for Stucki-Miller as a roofer. He retired after 34 years.
He loved hunting an fishing with his brother and never missed a hunting season for many years.
He joined the army in 1950 with two of his cousins. He was in the 11th Airborne Division. He served as a medical technician in the Medical Airborne Battalion. He left
the Army as a Corporal in December 1953. He was so proud of his service in the military.
Together Richard and Maurine spent many hours planting and tending a large and beautiful garden sharing all of the delicious produce with their family.
George Richard Jessop is survived by his daughter, Becky Adams (Craig), four grandsons, John Richard (Amber), Nathan Grant (Stephanie), David Craig (Jessica) and Andrew Allen whom he loved so much. Also two great grandchildren, Zach and Emma. Also a step-son, Jay Jessop (Charyn) and three sisters, Lazare Youse (Walt), Barbara Martin and Luwanna Larson. He was preceded in death by his beloved companion Maurine, his parents and his brother Robert.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2006 at 12 Noon, at the Millville City Cemetery under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary. Condolences may be extended to the family at
