Gerald Henry Miles

Gerald Henry Miles, born April 6th 1941, passed away peacefully at his home in Smithfield, Utah surrounded by his family, February 26th 2023. Gerald graduated from North Cache Highschool in 1959. He enjoyed working at USU and had a true dedication to service and his community. Gerald married the love of his life, Helen Priscilla Hansen, on March 9, 1962. They were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity in March, 1946.
He enjoyed being an active member in the Church of Jesus Crist of Latter-day Saints. Gerald was enthusiastic and enjoyed being outdoors with his family. He loved gardening, camping, fishing, snowmobiling and boating with the ones he loved. Anyone that knew Gerald knows that he was a funny, outgoing man and was the provider and caretaker of the Miles family.
Gerald's perfect day was any day spent on the water in his boat or a fresh powder day on his snowmobile in the mountains. He loved taking his wife, children, and grandchildren to explore the great outdoors where they could discover the natural wonders of Utah's landscapes. His love for family and sharing his passions for outdoor activities have been passed down to his children and grandchildren.
Gerald and Helen brought three wonderful boys into this world. The children and grandchildren were the highlights of his life. Above all he enjoyed being a father and grandfather. He is survived by his two sons Todd and Tyler (Teresa Vinson); his grandchildren Tiffany Thompson (Tommy), TJ, and Tanner. He is preceded in death by his parents Orin and Gwenaver, brother David, wife Helen, and his son Travis.
Funeral services will be held Friday March 3rd at 12 Noon at the Smithfield 7th Ward house, 79 East 200 South Smithfield. A viewing will be held prior starting at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Smithfield City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Allen-Hall Mortuary.
