HYRUM, UTAH: Gerald C. Swenson, 80, passed away on June 20, 2012 surrounded by his family members at the Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, Utah.
He was born on July 21, 1931 to Irvin and Elva Swenson. He married Patsy Bezyack Jewkes on October 15, 1960 and they were later sealed in the Logan LDS Temple on March 11, 1976.
Gerald was a hard working farmer who worked on the water ditch and in construction. He was the Hyrum Irrigation Water Master for 40 years.
Gerald loved milking cows and working with his team of horses. He enjoyed being out in the middle of a hayfield and anything to do with farming.
Gerald was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Hyrum 7th Ward.
Gerald is survived by his wife, Patsy, three children: Royal (Debbie) Jewkes, Wayne (Linda) Jewkes, both of Hyrum, and Tessie (Doug) Morgan of Pocatello, Idaho. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 20 1/2 great-grandchildren.
We as a family would like to express our sincere thanks to all those that have helped our dad with the farm work that was so hard for him to do during his last days.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, June 23, 2012 in the Hyrum North Stake Center, 245 Apple Drive in Hyrum, Utah. A viewing will be held on Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street in Logan, and prior to the services on Saturday from 10:30 to 11:30 AM at the church.
