Gilbert Anderson

LOGAN - Gilbert Moroni (Bud) Anderson, 90, of Logan died Dec. 15, 2011 at Logan Regional Hospital.

He was born on December 30, 1920 to Moroni and Nettie (Pehrson) Anderson in logan, Utah. He was a graduate of Logan High, where he proudly held many school shooting records while being part of the Cadet Rifle team. He also attended Utah State Agricultural College studying hydraulics.

He was a veteran of the World War 2. He served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Airforce 366th fighter group out of Hill Air Force Base. He was sent to Europe traveling with his unit through Scotland, England, Germany, France, and Beligum. While serving his country he participated in many campaigns including the Battle of the Bulge and D-Day.

Bud married Josephine (Jo) Rhodes on June 22, 1947 in logan, Utah. Their marriage was later solemized in the logan LDS Temple on Aug 2, 1950. He served as a High Priest in the Logan 25th ward.

He was the Logan agent for Garrett Freight lines for many years. He was also a partner in Logan Seed & Feed, later to be known as Anderson's Seed & Garden. He was an honored member of the Imperial Glee Club for 45 years where he shared his beautiful bass voice with all those around him. He loved driving around the Cache Valley, Bear lake, and through the Wellsville Canyon to grab a sandwich from Maddox with a family member sharing stories along the way in his cadilac cars. He enjoyed raising pheasants and quail for many years. He dearly loved his family and they adored him. He was a very compassionate and caring example to all those around him.

Bud is survived by his brother Clyde (Geneil) Anderson of logan. His children: son, Wallace of Salt lake. Daughters: Annette (McKay Pugmire) and Linda (Brad) Christensen of Logan. Grandchildren: Lisa (Eric) Maughan, Michelle (Phil) Jensen, Analee Christensen (deceased), Joshua Christensen, and Matt Newman. Great grandchildren: Carson Crockett, Taylor and Gage Maughan, and Annjolina Jensen.

He was proceded in death by his parents, his sister Nadine (his little princess), his sweet loving wife, precious granddaughter and special friend Maurine.

A special thanks to: Gaby, Anise, Dr. Joseph Merrill, and the staff of the logan Regional Hospital ER, ICU and Medical Care unit. We cannot thank you enough for the tender care, comfort, and respect to him and our family. And to: Brittani Ashby for your visits and companionship, along with his beloved Canyon Rd. and wonderful neighbors.

A graveside service will be held at the Logan City Cemetery on Tuesday, Decmeber 20, 2011 at 11 AM. Condolences and thoughts may be expressed to the family online at www.allenmortuaries.net .
