Gladys Marie (Dattage) Hansen, 87, passed away peacefully Thursday, November 22, 2018, in Logan, Utah. She was born to Henry and A. Eliza (Felix) Dattage in Providence, Utah on August 18, 1931. Gladys married her sweetheart Raymond Hansen in the Logan Temple on January 22, 1954. Theirs was truly a marriage of mutual respect and love. They found joy together in the mountains hiking, camping, taking Jeep rides, and in their family. They lived in Salinas, California for 40 years before returning to their hometown of Logan, Utah. Gladys was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints and served in many leadership and teaching capacities throughout her lifetime, as well as lending her beautiful soprano voice to choirs. She found joy in serving others, being the family matriarch, and in nature and loved sharing her broad knowledge of plants and flowers on walks. She cherished family time and her talent for finding new, popular recipes and creating them was unmatched. She was a domestic diva and a gracious hostess and routinely went above and beyond, thinking of every detail to make birthdays, holidays, celebrations, and family reunions magical! A sports fanatic, she loved football, basketball, and baseball and always had a game on TVgo Aggies and Jazz!
The family would like to thank the staff at Legacy House and Sunshine Home Health and Hospice for taking special care of her, as well as many neighbors and friends who truly shared their time and talents to serve her in many ways her last few years with usshe loved you all dearly.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Glenn Dattage, sisters Leora Wyatt and Della Parker, and husband Raymond and is survived by her seven children: Kim (Joy), Todd (Vicki), Rayann, Jeffrey (Lyn), Brett (Janna), Kent (Robin), and Brenda; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and family who will miss her.
A viewing will be held Friday evening, November 30, 2018, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 E. Center Street, Logan, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 1, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. (viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.) at the Dry Canyon Ward building at 1350 Eastridge Circle, Logan, Utah.
