Gladys Jorgensen Parker, 81, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2012 in Logan, Utah of natural causes.
Gladys was born February 11, 1931 in Hyrum, Utah to John W. Jorgensen and Nannie Nielsen Jorgensen.
Gladys attended Lincoln Elementary and graduated from South Cache High School in 1949. She also attended Utah State University for one year. She married Blaine Parker in the Logan Temple on June 21, 1951. She and Blaine raised their four daughters in Roy and Riverdale, Utah.
Gladys especially enjoyed genealogy, she submitted and did temple work for many of her Norwegian ancestors. She did beautiful handwork including quilting, needlepoint and crocheting that her children and grandchildren will enjoy for years to come.
Gladys is survived by her husband Blaine, daughters Jannette (Kurt) Heywood, Layton, Utah, Katherine Parker Hooper, Utah, Teresa (Kent) Harris, Logan, Utah and Tamara Vawdrey, Highland, Utah; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Dr. Reed (Gail) Jorgensen, Providence, Utah. She was preceded in death by ten sisters and brothers including her twin sister Gloria Johnson.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Allen Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center Street., Logan, Utah. Viewings will be held Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and prior to funeral services from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at the Allen Hall Mortuary in Logan, Utah.
