Glen Lamb Lucherini

North Logan- Our beloved dad, husband, grandpa, brother, uncle, and friend, Glen Lamb Lucherini, 83, completed his earthly mission, on March 12, 2015. Glen was born in the Logan Hospital on March 11, 1932, the 2nd of 6 children of Gwelda Lamb and William Melvin Lucherini.
He grew up in Logan, near the train depot and has always loved everything about trains, including the sounds of steam engines and diesel trains. He had many fond memories of having fun, playing games and pulling pranks with his friends, cousins, and siblings. He spent much of his childhood at his Grandpa and Grandma Lamb’s farm in Hyde Park; he considered it a second home and he dearly loved it. He worked hard on the farm pitching hay, milking cows, riding the horses (which he loved) and topping beets (which he hated).
After graduating from Logan High School in 1950, he joined the Army and was soon called to active duty to Korea. Shortly after returning from Korea, he served an honorable LDS mission in Buenos Aries, Argentina. While attending Logan High School, he began dating Kathleen Horlacher, who was a friend of his sister Gayle. After his mission, he again dated Kathleen and they were married in the Logan LDS Temple on November 22, 1954. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Dad attended USU on the G.I. Bill, but was soon offered full-time employment working for his Father-in-Law at Horlacher’s Meats, and so began over 50 years as a butcher at Horlacher’s Meats. He worked long, strenuous days, but he was a master at his craft and he loved the people he worked with. He greeted each customer with a “Hello” and a smile and cherished the hundreds of store patrons and friends he made through the decades. His excellent work ethic was an example to his many employees over the years, including all 6 of his children, who each had the privilege of working along side him.
Glen spent many years in the North Logan Lion’s Club, sang for years for the Imperial Glee Club and was even a dancer in the inaugural Martin Harris Pageant. But his greatest joy was serving his Father in Heaven and serving his family. Lunch hours were taken so he could coach Little League baseball and there were very few ball games and piano recitals that he did not attend. He and Kathy faithfully served two missions together, one to his beloved Argentina, and one to the Washington D.C. Temple, and were diligent workers in the Logan Temple for over 10 years.
Glen had a passion for life that was contagious. He was a happy, humble, kind and genuine person who made friends wherever he went. All who were privileged to know him will dearly miss him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy, and their 6 children, Robert, deceased (Janice Webber), Lonnie (Mary Knapp), Monte (Alice Carpenter), LynAnn (Jeff Smith), Todd (Suzanne Lofthouse), and RaLee (Kirk Eck), 27 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. His siblings, Ray, Gayle Pitkin, Nedra Coyner, and Jean Lucherini also survive him. He was preceded in death by his son Robert, his older brother Richard, his parents, his in-laws and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 21st at the North Logan LDS Chapel, 1650 E. 2600 N. in North Logan. A viewing will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Friday evening at Allen-Hall Mortuary, 34 East Center St. in Logan, and from 10-11:30 a.m. prior to the services Saturday morning. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
